Q. ALP not working with GIST Terminal. ALP
switches to Telnet mode. Why?
Ans.: ALP may not work with LTS (Local terminal
server), under Telnet. ALP requires Character Size (CS8). LTS does character
processing. While processing and it’s assume 8th bit as a special character
and strip 8th bit. This is resulting ALP switches to Telnet
mode and it will hang. To avoid this problem use Rlogin command from LTS
