iPLUGIN TROUBLESHOOTING

Problem: The following error message box is displayed when the page is loaded and typing in Indian languages does not work.

Reason: iPlugin LPK file reference - Your LPK file reference is not set properly.

Solution: The LPK file reference is very important, as without it iPlugin control will not work properly and you might get error like this. Most probably cause of this error message is the path of the LPK file is set correctly. Refer iplugin download for IE section for more details.

Problem: User keeps getting a message box indicating that he is using a evaluation version.

Solution: This may happen if client machine has accessed a site with demo version of iPlugin and downloaded/installed those components.

If you are not using the evaluation copy, User has to “Clean” his system. Ask user to remove iPlugin.Ocx from “downloaded program files” for Internet Explorer. For Netscape unregister and remove iPlugin.Ocx from “System\iPlugin“ folder and remove the Npgils32.dll from the “netscape\plugins” folder.
Clean up procedure will consist of the following:
Note: This should be done only after closing all instances of the browser.
a) For Internet Explorer, remove iPlugin.ocx and ??_Gist Font resource for web .ocx from the downloaded program files.
b) For Netscape remove the npgils32.dll from the plugins folder of netscape. remove ??Plugin.exe and it’s extracted files.
note: the remaining steps are common to both IE and netscape
c) Delete the windows\system\iplugin folder
d) Delete the fonts fonts which were downloaded from the server into the windows/fonts folder as part of the package your are trying to explicitly clean
e) For Internet Explorer in all normal circumstances All the dependencies (except font) get removed automatically when the “iPlugin control” and “??Gist Font Resource for Web control” are removed from the “downloaded program files” folder under windows directory.

Problem: I see the error message “This user is not authorized to install software. Please contact your administrator….”

Reason: The user does not have adequate rights to install software on the system. When a page containing iplugin is loaded for the first time, the Indian language components are downloaded and get installed on the user’s system. This problem occurs when the user does not have adequate rights to install software on the system that he is using.

Solution: The user should have rights to install software. The download and installation of software can only be done by administrators and power users.
